Mother & child sculpture at Trinity

I am one of the artist in residence at Trinity Catholic school this
year.
I am working with year 12 (1st year A level)
They are learning how to model in plaster
and getting to grips with techniques of carving in breeze block

We had great fun making these beautiful lanterns for a parade in Dec
Spa Center balcomy is a lovely venue
come to our weekly workshops, sun 11th,18th &25th nov and sat 1st Dec
a good excuss for all ages to get creative

my 2nd carving in response to mother and child theme set for me as Artist in residence at Trinity catholic school
the challenge is how simply can I portray this theme
the overall form is reminiscent of a seed inside a pod
The larger shape hugs the smaller
repeating shapes to show a genetic connection
